I was unaware of the way textbooks are built, and honestly this disgust me that we are spending all this information on material that is just thrown together. No wonder our student hate reading textbooks and complain at the site of them, they can see and feel that there is no passion behind the text.
I believe that all of these materials relate to the same basic concept - EDUCATION NEEDS TO CHANGE. I think that all of these texts support this idea and are focusing on the flaws of education that are causing our students to suffer. We need to address these flaws in our education system and introduce new methods that will help our students rather than hurt them.
I think it was easier to simply read the text. I think that the first entry was very good as it did a visual and audio but the writing hand distracted me for the audio at times. And the second one had no visual aids to back up the lecture, so you really had to concentrate on what he was saying. Reading the text was the most simple for me.
I think all of these deal with the fact that we need to change our education system and increase the digital formats we use to deliver that information. We need to find ways to make the students passionate about what they are learning so they will remain engaged and intrigued by the education system rather than wanting to opt out of it.
I was really surprised by the way text books are authored too. Apparently the publishers just throw something together and pay someone to put their name on it. It's going to take young teachers like yourself to make these changes in education. I hope you are up to it.
ReplyDeleteIt seems as though we were all a little surprised at the way text books are created!!! It is no wonder that, still to this day, as a student and teacher I find text books to be so confusing!!! Great ideas!!! Great Post!!!!:)
