Textual Language 3

Songs are a great way to reach people. In fact songs are like poems with a melody. Music is very inspiring, calming, and encouraging to many people. On television I am always seeing commercials about save music in the schools. I know that growing up as a child my mom required me to be involved in some type of musical class through middle school and high school. I was in choir all through middle and most of high school and I learned how to play the violin in middle school. My mom always lectured me that music was important as it "awakened" different parts of the brain and helped you to focus better in school. She always said by having music in my life I would be able to perform better academically. And when you think about the regions of the brain music and sound stimulates, her theories make sense. I think music is a very important part of our life, and even though it might not be tested on a standardized test, I do not think that it should be removed from the school systems. Isn't out goal to develop well "rounded" individuals?

For this textual language I have chosen a song that I connect very strongly with at this point in my life.

Below you will see the part of the song that really reaches out to me. I am able to relate to this part of the song. I am young and just starting out on my own and this song helps me make it through the rough times.
